The Saramonic SR-VRM1 is a compact, “plug-on” audio recorder that you can directly connect to XLR microphones in order to create broadcast-quality recordings with resolutions up to 24bit 48kHz. The SR-VRM1 can provide +48 volts of phantom power to condenser microphones, which gives you the flexibility to use any kind of XLR microphone. The SR-VRM1 records Broadcast Wave Files to MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards, and a headphone jack with independent volume control is provided so you can listen while you record and hear playback.
The XLR connector on the SR-VRM1 features a locking mechanism that firmly holds the attached microphone in place. You can connect a handheld dynamic or condenser interview microphone, like the Saramonic SR-HM7 (sold separately), and record hours of audio without worrying about wireless dropouts or interference. You can connect a professional shotgun microphone, supply it with phantom power, and use it on a boompole or a stand. You can also connect a wired lavalier mic, like the Saramonic XLavMic-O (sold separately), and slip the SR-VRM1 into a pocket.
Like all Saramonic products, the SR-VR1 is easy to use. Navigating the menus with its backlit display is simple. You can easily adjust the headphone volume, change the recording level, and turn the low-cut filter on or off. The durable, all-metal construction of the SR-VRM1 was built to survive the not-so-gentle world of production. In addition to impressive sound quality, the SR-VRM1 efficiently utilizes power. It gets 8 hours of operation time from 2 AA batteries, 5 hours with phantom power. It’s compatible with up to 32GB MicroSDHC cards (sold separately).
